Unique and accomplished South African craftsmanship!
A distillery where everything is handmade, from picking botanicals, to distilling, bottling, applying labels and not least the casting of their unique ceramic bottles.
Cape Saint Blaize Gin is to be considered a distillery with an artistic approach to producing uniquely tasty and incredibly beautiful gin.
It is distilled in their historic Okkerladen buildings in Mossel Bay in South Africa. They make a virtue of using well-tested and old traditions. all this to ensure you get a unique and well-balanced gin – every time.
The handmade ceramic bottles are based on ancient traditions from the area and it is clear that energy and heart are put into it throughout the entire production of this gin.
CAPE SAINT BLAIZE FLORISTIC GIN is pink gin raised to heights that will be difficult for the competitors to reach, there are strawberries in it without it being too much, there are seeds of paradise, juniper, cinnamon, cardamom as together makes a fresh summer gin - good evenings on the terrace are guaranteed.
With a gentle taste of strawberry which slowly penetrates a little more to the front, where the mint flavor comes from, well I don't know as there is no mint in it but it is fresh and goes just perfectly with the slightly bitter dry juniper and the sweet strawberries.
As something completely new, they have used candied grapefruit peels, which are probably a bit of the mastermind behind the slightly more exotic sweet notes that are also found here.
CAPE SAINT BLAIZE FLORISTIC GIN is best enjoyed in a large glass, with plenty of ice cubes, fresh strawberries, but don't overdo it - whether you want a slightly sweet or a classic tonic is up to you you, both are thoroughly delicious.
Tasting notes:
Colour: Crystal clear.
Nose: Soft and floral with an almost green tone of fresh and dried flowers, as well as a mild fullness of crisp juniper berries.
Taste: Incredibly aromatic and delicious. Floral notes merge with juicy notes of ripe strawberries with hints of pepper. The body is full and has a soft sweetness that, in addition to the floral notes, also contains vanilla and fig. A completely unique and very elegant gin.
Texture: Luxurious and soft.
Aftertaste: More aromatic and full-bodied with warm notes of vanilla, cardamom, juniper and pepper – but also with a floral freshness and notes of candied citrus.
Mixed With: Enjoy it with a fresh Indian Tonic and serve it in a G&T with plenty of ice and fresh strawberries and pepper as a garnish.
Botanicals:
Flowers, Juniper, Green Roiboos, Vanilla, Strawberry, Paradise pepper and Mint-Buchu.
